First stop on arrival was The Chicken Coop. The owner still knew my favorite drink ~ cherry coke with a little chocolate sirup which he brought without me asking, each time I would visit! Our experience was excellent because it was more of a hang-out for locals on the bar side. On the other side you could get an elegant meal in peace and quiet which the bar wasn't after 5 pm :). The food was always great, especially the BBQ chicken pizza. We took many friends there, especially from other countries. They were baffled at the peanut shells on the floor and sawdust, but rest assured it's cleaned and replaced often due to health codes. This is a clean, well-run establishment and very welcoming. The locals from millionaires to average joes are as welcome as the next. It was ...yes, this used to be Zubies Chicken Coop. It was 1 of 3 in the area - Zubies Gilded Cage (closed a while back, used to be on Placentia near 19th), and of course Zubies Dry Dock on Adams and Magnolia in Huntington Beach.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7975216108354644767.post-4176816173139847832008-10-07T21:44:00.000-07:002008-10-07T21:44:00.000-07:00Peanut shells with no peanuts?
